The Manor House is a gentleman Farmer's house dating from the early 18th Century, set in 8 acres of it's own land in the village of Oughterside on the North Western Edge of the Lake District, and only 5 miles from Cockermouth.
Our ensuite rooms (with baths and showers) are extremely spacious, furnished with kingsize beds and lots of little luxuries to make your stay as pleasant as possible. All rooms command splendid views over open countryside towards Skiddaw and the mountains of the Lake District.
Tuck into a hearty breakfast, read the paper in the sun lounge, stroll around the garden and then go forth and enjoy the day.
We are happy to accommodate well behaved pets.
We are an ideal place to stay for motorcycle tourists.
Our spacious rooms have plenty of storage for all your gear and your bike will be well cared for in a secured lock-up.
We have drying facilities for that odd occasion when it rains!

This unique and spacious Grade 2 Star Georgian town house is perfectly located on one of the oldest streets in Cockermouth, Cumbria. This historic market town is the birthplace of poet William Wordsworth, and lies on the fringes of the Lake District National Park.
Recent refurbishment of the guest house has retained many original features and lots of character.
Six Castlegate is an ideal bed and breakfast for tourists, business people and regular visitors to the area; which includes the coastal towns of Workington, Whitehaven and Maryport.
Each ensuite room has been refurbished to a high standard. All guest bedrooms retain their own individual characteristics, making each stay memorable.
Fluffy towels, flat screen televisions and carefully chosen and created furnishings ensure an enjoyable stay.
All rooms have Internet access.
Each breakfast is freshly prepared using the finest locally produced ingredients. The menu includes vegetarian options and seasonal variations are also available.
Special dietary needs can be catered for on prior request, and we are happy to provide packed lunches with some notice.

Meadow Bank, Lorton,  Cockermouth Meadow Bank is situated in the picturesque village of Lorton which is 8 miles from Keswick and 4 miles from the lovely market town of Cockermouth and only a short drive to Buttermere, Crummockwater, Loweswater and Derwentwater.

Damson Ghyll is situated at Latterhead near Loweswater in the Vale of Lorton in the secluded north west part of the Lake District National Park and is an ideal base for walking, cycling and touring.
