Specializing in holiday and business clients requiring midweek or long term lets on a self catering basis we are ideally situated in a countryside location, but only minutes from the M6 (J44), Kingstown and Kingmoor Industrial Estates.
We are only 3 miles from Carlisle city centre, and only a short drive from the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and Scottish Borders.
Our accommodation ranges from 1, 2 or 3 bedroom self-contained barn conversions, (Dovecote, Hayloft and Coachhouse) adjoining the Grade II listed Georgian house, circa 1700 to 2 bedroom holiday cottages (newly built in 2001).
We also have a Beauty Clinic, hair salon and piano restorer on site.
All buildings are double glazed with private off road parking.

Newbiggin Hall Self Catering Apartments

Newbiggin Hall exterior, Carleton, Carlisle. Newbiggin Hall was originally built as a pele tower in 1304: a place of refuge from Scottish raiders and feuding border families, providing shelter for both humans and animals. Subsequent re-building and additions in the 17th and 18th centuries have created a handsome country house set in its own beautiful grounds of approximately three acres. It is a listed building (Grade II*) and features in “Buildings of Cumberland” by Nikolaus Pevsner. There are extensive lawns for recreation, flower borders and a woodland area.
The house faces south-east with unspoilt views across the richly wooded valley of the River Petteril to the Pennines. Southwards the Lake District fells can be seen and to the north are views of the lowland hills of Scotland. Yet despite its rural situation Newbiggin is only four miles from the historic border city of Carlisle.
Newbiggin Hall offers three self-catering apartments of 4 star standard (English Tourism Council), providing a comfortable and characterful environment from which to enjoy a holiday in this beautiful area.
Each apartment provides:

• Comfortable seating, books and television in sitting rooms.
• Central heating with night storage radiators in all main rooms at no extra charge.

New Pallyards Self Catering Cottages

Set Amidst beautiful countryside, our centrally heated cottages offer an excellent standard of accommodation with modern day facilities. Five cottages are available with 1 to 4 bedrooms available. New Pallyards is a small farm of 65 acres set in the idyllic countryside of the North East of Cumbria. The accommodation comprises a converted farmhouse and self catering cottages.
The large woodland beside the farm has a number of individual walks and is very popular with our regular visitors. We are also very close to:

Fell View Cottage kitchen Our luxury, home from home is superbly well equipped and set in a delightful, friendly village amidst beautiful countryside. Two pubs are within walking distance both serve good quality food and there's also the village shop. We have a lovely garden that's ideal for relaxing in and the cottage itself is cosy and comfortable. The pretty village of Cartmel is minutes away.
We provide a 'welcome tray' on arrival, a detailed 'holiday guide' of the area and a file of 'local walks', some right from the front door! Your bed linen is provided, and the beds are made up and waiting for you.
The cottage is well looked after and spotlessly clean! The comfortable lounge is attractively furnished with a rocking chair, cottage suite, TV, radio cassette player, CD player and a good selection of videos, CDs and cassettes. The dining table seats five and overlooks the patio garden. Bedrooms are colour co-ordinated and spacious. One bedroom has a double bed and the other bedroom has three single beds. The bathroom has a bath, shower and shaver point.
Cottage Facilities: Double glazed with gas central heating /hot water. Fully fitted kitchen, extremely well equipped with gas cooker, microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, automatic washing machine, tumble dryer/ iron and board.
Teletext TV and video, radios, tape recorder with a selection of tapes and family and children's videos. Cot and booster chair available at no extra charge. Children's toy box, balls, jigsaws, games and lego. Games table-pool/table tennis etc in garage (child sized). Picnic hamper with flask. Pay phone. Two toilets - upstairs and downstairs. Longlands is set amidst fields and parkland just one mile from the village of Cartmel, nestling at the foot of Hampsfell and enjoying magnificent views across Cartmel Valley.
Hidden by the old house lies a secluded courtyard where buildings that were once filled with the bustling activity of dairymaids, housekeepers and gardeners, have now been transformed into peaceful holiday cottages.

All the cottages have been graded by The English Tourism Council as 4 Star - Highly Recommended.
They have all been restored with their original stonework, timbers and traditional features retained. All cottages have full central heating and double glazing to ensure that they remain warm in winter. They are all open plan downstairs. The fitted Kitchens have been designed so that everything you need for cooking is available - fridges, electric fan-assisted ovens and grills, gas or electric hobs and microwave ovens. Cottages for more than two people also have dish washers. All bedrooms are supplied with bed linen (electric blankets are available but rarely requested) and all bathrooms have baths, showers and towels provided. All cottages have their own telephone and internet access.
