Borrowdale Self Catering Holidays - Kiln How

Kiln How Set in the beautiful Lake District valley of Borrowdale, Kiln How is an 18th century farmhouse which has been converted into 4 self catering apartments. A more recent addition is Kiln How cottage, idealy suited for a self-catering holiday for 2 people.
The farmhouse accommodation comprises of 4 apartments sleeping from 2 to 6. Each apartment is comfortably furnished and fully equipped.
The cottage and apartments at Kiln How are situated just 6 miles from Keswick in one of the most beautiful locations in the English Lake District; many of our guests visit us several times a year to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Borrowdale valley.
Our private car parking ensures safekeeping of vehicles and many guests use their cars but rarely during their stay in Borrowdale. With walks of all distances and levels available from the doorstep driving becomes entirely optional. Within the Borrowdale village of Rosthwaite and a mere stone's throw from Kiln How there is a farmhouse tearoom and a good local pub.
Whether your interests lie in walking, climbing, watersports, photography, fishing or simply relaxing, your resident hosts Peter, Nicola and son Tom extend a warm welcome to you at Borrowdale Self Catering Holidays.

Olives Cottage, Braithwaite

Olives cottage Olives Cottage is a suprisingly spacious mid-terraced cottage 1½ miles from Keswick Town Centre in the unspoilt village of Braithwaite. This well equipped self-catering accommodation enjoys spectacular views from both front and rear windows.
A comfortable living room creates a relaxing and homely atmosphere featuring a local stone fireplace with gas fire, tv and dvd player. French doors open from the living room onto an area of decking and private garden equipped with table and chairs.
The dining/kitchen area is both practical and modern with fully integrated fridge and dishwasher, dining table and seats for six people. The kitchen leads on to a sunlounge/utility area equipped with easy chairs and coffee table. The utility area also contains a large fridge freezer, washer/drier and downstairs wc.
On the first floor there are three bedrooms. The double bedroom has been tastefully decorated with TV and lovely views towards Skiddaw. The comfortable twin room with pine furnitue also has views towards Skiddaw. The third bedroom is a single sized room with bunk beds and again lovely views, this time towards Barrow Fell. The nicely decorated upstairs bathroom is fully tiled and has bath with shower over, w.c. and wash hand basin.
There is a driveway with private parking to the front and a relaxing garden to the rear. Towels are provided, bikes are available by arrangement.

Sefton House sleeps eight people in two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and one bunk bedroom. The award winning architects have given an added dimension by including an extra large picture window to appreciate the magnificent views of the beautiful rolling countryside.
Clover Cottage has one double bedroom and one twin room with 2 bathrooms - one being a walk in wet room with private patio (one bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor). leather sofas, solid wood furniture, ash floor and luxury carpets.
High View Meadows has one double bedroom and two twin rooms and has 2 bathrooms, with a private 20ft balcony, underfloor heating, gas fire, remote control blinds and Velux windows, leather suites and solid oak furniture.
The kitchens are fully equipped to a high standard.
Linen, towels, parking and VAT included.
The leisure centre next door which includes a gym, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and an 18m swimming pool - included in the price for both properties.
A restaurant and pub is only a 2 minute walk away, and shops are 1/2 mile.

Mill Brow  Bed and Breakfast Situated between the Lakes and the Dales, Kirkby Lonsdale has access to some of the loveliest scenic landscapes in the country. The River Lune is splendid for swimming, fishing or simply taking walks.
This lovely spacious first floor apartment overlooks the River Lune. It has an entrance/dining hall, large sitting room with gas fire, TV and radio. Kitchen with gas cooker, washing machine, microwave and fridge. One double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Bathroom with electric shower over bath. Gas central heating. The apartment is approached by a spiral staircase, which is not suitable for the elderly or very young.

Stabling, grazing and bike storage is also available. The Lune Valley is the perfect place to come and unwind. Enjoy the surrounding area with its splendid footpaths, golf courses, cycle ways, bridal ways, fishing and local attractions. Situated 3 miles north of Kirby Lonsdale it is handy enough to nip down for a pint or an evening meal in one of the many inns and restaurants in this pretty market town.

A pretty country cottage with exposed beams in the lounge with an old black range fire.

Fleshbeck Cottage was build in 1717 and is part of the large farmhouse that served the farm. The dining room is traditionally furnished as is the lounge with its cast iron range. It is heated by storage heaters, immersion heater and fire. There is terrestrial TV, sizeable garden and ample parking.
Old Stables
The Old Stables is a newly coverted barn retaining many of the original features yet offering every modern comfort.
A Large lounge with log fire and bacony, kitchen with dishwasher etc., one double and two twin bedrooms, en-suite and bathroom, washer/dryer, garden and parking.
The "Old Stable" was built in 1746 and has been newly converted from a traditional farm building that housed 3 working horses together with a barn, loose box and granary. It now has 3 ground floor bedrooms:- 1 twin with en-suite, 1 double and 1 twin with bathroom between. On the upper floor there is a large dining area / lounge with open fire, oak beams and furniture.
The oak kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer etc. There are washing and drying facilities and the whole building has under floor central heating. Sky TV is provided as is linen and towels. There is ample parking and a garden.
The Granary The Granary was converted from the traditional granary that served the farm. It comprises on the ground floor:

Shower & toilet and a spiral staircase that leads to a spacious living room.

Highdale Meadows

Highdale Meadows provides luxurious, modern, self catering accommodation overlooking the beautiful Lune Valley and giving easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District. The luxury cottage is part of an exclusive development close to Whoop Hall Inn where guests can enjoy the facilities of the Hotel & Country Club.
Although the cottage only has two bedrooms, 6 adults can be accommodated as the double sofa-bed on the landing / study area provides an additional sleeping facility.
The main bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The shower room downstairs is in effect a wetroom. Both rooms are beautifully tiled.

Long Meadow Cottage

The meadows is a new development within the grounds of The Whoop Hall and Country Club near Kirkby Lonsdale, and designed by award winning local architects to create the perfect place to get away for a long weekend, or for a longer family holiday.
It sleeps 4 people, where you will be able to relax and unwind in either of the individually designed double bedrooms, which are accompanied by their own bathroom or wet room. The cottage has been finished to the highest standard throughout, with oak doors and beautifully tiled floors over underfloor heating.
